What to expect in the Art Barn

The Art Barn is a community-centered, immersive art gallery and live-creation space within the Vibin' in the Pines Music Festival at the (Rosholt) Portage County Fairgrounds. Its purpose is to uplift artists who create unique, meaningful work and to offer festival-goers a chance to witness the creative process up close.

Featuring live glassblowers and artists working across a wide range of mediums. The Art Barn serves as a living, breathing, creative hub where art, music, and community weave together into one vibrant experience.

Arrival, set-up and tear-down

Participating artists are expected to arrive on Thursday afternoon (August 20th) to set up their space. Any assisting partners must have their own festival ticket or wristband. Each artist will be assigned a designated space within the Art Barn. Please note that the Art Barn hosts live music late into the night, so lighting will be dim and the atmosphere is lively. Artists are responsible for bringing all materials needed to utilize their space effectively - such as tables, extension cords, hooks for hanging artwork, lighting, and any other necessary equipment. The space is indoors and electricity is available.

The building will be locked nightly at 3:00 A.M. and reopened by 10:00 A.M. the following day.

Tear-down will take place on Sunday morning (August 23rd) at 10:00 A.M. Artists are required to pack up all personal belongings and leave their area clean - this includes removing trash, wiping up spills, and taking down any nails, tape, or other materials used. Our goal is to leave the space exactly as we found it.

Artists Expectations

Live artists are expected to be actively creating or engaging in artistic activity for at least 4 hours per day. We encourage artists to create a schedule that allows them to enjoy the festival while also communicating clearly with attendees about when they will be present in their booth.

Artists are responsible for their own materials and sales. If you step away from your booth, please ensure your space and belongings are secure.

As representatives of the Vibin' in the Pines family, live artists are expected to carry themselves with professionalism, respect, and alignment with the festivals care values: Community, Connection, Art & Music.

Community Standards

Vibin' in the Pines is an inclusive experience for everyone - regardless of race, political views, sexual orientation, gender identity, or personal background. Hateful, discriminatory, or dangerous behavior will not be tolerated. The festival reserves the right to remove any individual who violates these core values. All state and federal laws apply.

Tickets & Contribution

Participating artists will receive one complimentary festival ticket. Any assistants or guests joining you will need to purchase their own ticket.

Because Vibin' in the Pines is a charity based project and there is no vending fee for artists in the Art Barn, we offer an optional opportunity to give back: artists may choose to donate a piece of artwork to our silent auction. All proceeds support Vibin' in the Pines and its annual charitable efforts.

This contribution is completely voluntary, and deeply appreciated.

Consent & Liability

By submitting this application and participating in Vibin’ in the Pines Music Festival, artists acknowledge that they are voluntarily engaging in a live art experience within an active festival environment. Artists are responsible for their own materials, artwork, and personal safety throughout the event.

Vibin’ in the Pines, its organizers, and the Portage County Fairgrounds are not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged artwork, materials, or personal items. Artists agree to follow all festival guidelines and to use materials that are safe and appropriate for a shared public space.

Participation in the festival also grants consent for event organizers to photograph, film, or otherwise document the installation and live-painting process for promotional or archival purposes. Artist credit will be included whenever possible.
